Creating a more informed public, one story at a time
WUWM 89.7 Milwaukee’s NPR is the area’s premiere public media source for fact-based, independent news and entertainment programming. As a community-supported radio station, WUWM 89.7 weaves stories of southeastern Wisconsin together to engage, inspire and connect people with a shared understanding of each other, the region and the world. Beyond local programs like Lake Effect and Bubbler Talk, listeners can hear the best national offerings from the affiliate networks National Public Radio, Public Radio International, and American Public Media. Founded in September 1964, WUWM has been a staple in the Milwaukee community for nearly 60 years. A gift in any amount supports a free press and keeps local news free from paywalls and accessible for all.
